Er guishi & spanish cafes

A few years ago I found myself sitting in Er Guishi, a bar in Lavapies, Madrid, and I overheard a conversation among  a group of men.  I spent a lot of time in that red-room cafe and the men knew it and they knew I was from New York. One asked me — why do you have so many skyscrapers in your city if they are mostly empty? And the other men start to laugh.

I decided then that I would start to keep a blog — not a diary but a collection of thoughts and fragments of poems.  Here is the link.  The blog also includes videos, photos, and a couple of images of ancient and contemporary artwork.
